I am pleased to report that we are going to start a new weekly feature here with a few other website operators and bloggers. We are going to do a weekly discussion of a fantasy topic with a few other fantasy experts. Details are inside.
This is sort of a new and exciting venture. I am working with a few other website operators and bloggers to put together a fantasy consortium that will rival the big names in fantasy. Frankly, I think that the content these guys churn out is as good or better than any big name in the business. I hope that this endeavor will allow this group to create a bigger splash in the fantasy world.
What we intend to do as a jumping off point is each week have the participants answer a fantasy question, rotating weekly with each site posting the participants’ responses. The Fantasy Baseball Generals bat lead off and next week it will be another website as we will rotate through each one. Don’t worry, I will be posting here when their posts go up. Next week it will be Greener on the Other Side, then RotoProfessor, then RotoAuthority and then The Hardball Times.
I urge readers to check out their websites now and each week as we post our responses. I hope readers will find it interesting to see other experts’ takes on these fantasy questions. This is hopefully just the start of a new and exciting partnership, and readers will be able to get some of the best content in the blogosphere (at least in my view!)
Here are the participants:
Greener on the Other Side–Big fans of The Usual Suspects (judging by their URL) Greener on the Other Side was named one of the top 101 baseball blogs and recently participated with me in the MLB Front Office Expert Mock Draft.
Rob Reed–Baseball Geeks. Rob is also a participant in the Fantasy baseball Search Expert League, and is the creator of the playertrack system. When you check it out, see who is sponsoring David Wright this year….
Eric Stashin–RotoProfessor–RotoProfessor was named on of the top 101 baseball blogs on the net (as were The Generals by the way!)
Derek Carty–The Hardball Times A former colleague when I was writing for THT, Derek is one of the best analysts out there. They just don’t ask anyone to run a fantasy blog at sites like THT.
Tim Dierkes-Roto Authority Tim is one of the most widely read guys in the baseball world, as a result not only of his great work at RotoAuthority , but also for his MLB Trade Rumors website, one of the most valuable sources of information in the business. Despite his success, Tim notes that his proudest achievement was getting the coveted first place spot in my Fantasy Baseball Search Expert League rankings.
So this is the roster! We may expand during the season depending on the success of these initial steps. I think this partnership will be of great benefit to readers most of all, because they will have access to some of the best content anywhere, from differing perspectives and viewpoints.
