Fantasy managers with Vernon Wells may hope he returns from his September shoulder surgery with more games like last night. He went three-for-four with a two-run homer in a 5-2 victory for the Blue Jays in New York. His compatriot in the outfield, Álex Ríos, could hardly be kept from the bases himself, drawing a walk and going two-for-three with two RBI. Jeremy Accardo got the save for Toronto, filling in for B.J. Ryan (as he did last season to the tune of 30 saves).
The only runs for the Yankees came from Alex Rodriguez, who did what he usually does by hitting a two-run homer of his own.

Typical A-Rod, boosting his stats while his team loses.
