Brian Bannister continued his great start to the season with a win for the Royals yesterday, pitching a complete game against the Twins to the tune of three hits, one walk, three strikeouts, and one run (an RBI single to Justin Morneau). He’s now 3-0 with an ERA of 0.86 and a WHIP of 0.71. Billy Butler knocked in Kansas City’s first run with an RBI single, then drew three walks before being replaced on the basepaths in the seventh inning. Alex Gordon hit well, too, going two-for-three with a solo home run and a walk.

In case you hadn’t heard, Francisco Liriano was the starter for the Twins, and he didn’t have the best day. Only making it to the fifth inning on ninety pitches, Liriano gave up six hits and five walks while striking out four.
