Royals first baseman Billy Butler went two-for-four with two RBI yesterday, hitting from the DH spot, to help Kansas City beat Detroit in a 4-0 shutout. The Royals’ pitching was led by Brian Bannister, who went seven innings, giving up only two hits and striking out four. He was helped by an inning each from Leo Núñez and Joakim Soria, who added one and three strikeouts to the total, respectively.

Edgar Renteria was the only Tiger who could get a hit in the game, getting on base with three singles.

    Brian Bannister vs Sabermetrics
Round 1 goes to the human.
One of the most interesting things to watch is Bannister’s saga to defeat Saber stats like BABIP with complete knowledge, understanding and acceptance of their validity.

The Royals won’t win the division or anything but there is not a manager better with a better team fit than Trey Hillman- People will recognize his skills by the end of the year. Butler can flat out rake-

They have some stories this summer.
