Despite strong starting performances from (Patrick’s pick) Shaun Marcum (7.0 IP, 6H, 1ER, 1BB, 8K) and Dana Eveland (6.1 IP, 3H, 0ER, 3BB, 6K), last night’s game between the Blue Jays and the A’s was decided by Travis Buck’s two-RBI double in the twelfth inning. It was Buck’s third double of the night, and it capped a three-for-six, three RBI outing for him. He was batting .129 before last night, with only four hits in thirty-one at-bats.
Vernon Wells and Álex Ríos had the best bats for Toronto, hitting two-for-six and two-for-five, respectively, with an RBI for Wells. The loss completed a three-game sweep for the Blue Jays at home.
