Magglio Ordóñez hit two home runs in a five home run game for the Tigers yesterday in their 8-2 win over the Rangers. Maggs went three-for-four with a solo shot and a three-run dinger, bringing his season average to .294, his HR total to five, and his RBI total to fourteen. Curtis Granderson, Brandon Inge, and Ryan Raburn hit the other home runs for Detroit, all solo home runs, while Michael Young hit a solo shot of his own for Texas.
Jeremy Bonderman started the game for the Tigers, but had to leave two outs into the fifth inning after throwing 111 pitches to give up two hits, two runs, and a career-worst seven walks. He’s 1-2 for the season with a 4.28 ERA and 1.79 WHIP.
