Zack Greinke continued his great start to the season yesterday, going eight shutout innings against the Yankees at home, and posting two strikeouts, two walks, and six hits. It all helped bring his line after two starts to 2-0, with 5 strikeouts, 0.60 ERA, and a 1.07 WHIP. Mark Grudzielanek and Billy Butler, who are leading the Royals with .407 and .406 batting averages, respectively, each went one-for-three in the game, with Grudzielanek scoring a run off a José Guillén single. The win keeps the Royals at the top of the AL Central.
Ian Kennedy was scheduled to start the game for the Yankees, but Joe Girardi scratched him when the weather turned rainy. Kennedy did come in from the bullpen to finish the game from the sixth inning, and gave up two runs, two hits, and two walks while striking out three.
