NL "Gut Feelings"

Following up yesterday’s post, here are some “gut feeling” speculations in the NL

This is a fun exercise and I encourage everyone to do it. Feel free to email me with your own speculations and I will post some of the interesting ones. here goes:

ARI: Stephen Drew flops again and his career goes the Russ Adams route.
ATL: Rafael Soriano becomes a top five closer.
CHI: Ryan Theriot loses his job, yielding to Ronny Cedeno by the end of the year.
CIN: Jeff Keppinger wins a batting title, a la Freddy Sanchez.
COL: Chris Iannetta rebounds and becomes a top 10-15 catcher.
FLA: Jeremy Hermida makes the All-Star team.
HOU: Michael Bourn steals 60 bases.
LA: Joe Torre buries Matt Kemp who gets 300 ABs. Ugh I sure hope I am wrong about this one.
MIL: Corey Hart: 30-30-.300
NYM: The Mets somehow miss the playoffs as Delgado and Beltran struggle, and Perez and Maine fall back to earth.
PHI: Brett Myers ends up back in the pen.
PIT: Paul Maholm emerges as their best pitcher, and Steven Pearce win the ROY.
SD: Hoffman loses the closer job. I really think this has a good chance of occurring.
SF: Not much going on here, so let’s say that Angel Villalona advances to AA and is a top five prospect next year.
STL: Anthony Reyes emerges from the doghouse and posts a positive value season and ends up as their second best pitcher behind Wainwright.
WAS: Lastings Milledge emerges as a top ten OF, Elijah Dukes blossoms and the Nats approach .500. I have to admit that I love Dukes and at one point in the past asserted that he would be a better player than Delmon Young. Oops.

I think pretty much any of those could happen.
