After my initial article on Cueto, I followed up like I said, sending out around 10 trade offers over the weekend. I aimed ridiculously high, just to test out how other owners now viewed him. Unfortunately, all my offers were rejected. After another dominating start last night, it’s tempting to try it out again, BUT I’m suggesting waiting 1 more start. He faces the Pirates on Sunday, which gives him another excellent shot at a 3rd gem. It’s understanable that owners might have been skeptical after just his fantastic debut, but 3 dominating starts would make many owners believers. Of course after potentially 3 sparkling outings, it might be tough to trade him yourself. So let’s see how the Pirates game goes and then decide the next course of action.

I watched him pitch last night. The guy is dynamite and he has great mound presence for a rookie. 18 K’s and no walks through two starts is ridiculous.
I own him and have no intention of dealing him. He could be Liriano from two years ago. His stuff is that good.

I think I might be getting lowballed, but I was offered Rafael Furcal for Edgar Renteria and Cueto. My team’s in desperate need of steals so I’m thinkin’ about pulling the trigger.

Yeah, Kevin, I agree if he dominates the Pirates also, it’s going to be very difficult to talk yourself into dealing him.
And watching a guy pitch always makes you biased! Heck, I watched Daniel Cabrera pitch during the MLB Extra Innings free preview and holy crap his stuff is ridiculous. If he had one of those rare good control games and I just started getting into baseball, I woulda thought he was one of the best pitchers in baseball!
Junker- I love Furcal and actually made an offer that included he and Cueto over the weekend. However, I think you could get much more. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’d accept Cueto straight up. But like I said in the article, I’m personally waiting until after his Pirates start, when hopefully his value is at its absolute highest.
