Chase Utley went three-for-three to help the Phillies beat the Mets 5-4 last night. Utley hit a single and two home runs to drive in four of the Phillies’ five runs in the game. With those three hits and a walk, he raised his season numbers to .351/.432/.797 (AVG/OBP/SLG) with 17 RBI and a league-leading 8 HR. Most projections going in to the season had him pegged for a HR total of somwhere in the range of 22-26, similar to last season’s 22 HR/104 RBI line. However, a start like this is making his fantasy owners hope for a repeat of his 2006 performance, when he hit 32 long balls.

Mets first baseman Carlos Delgado was hitless in four at-bats in the game–not a good addition to the .213/.329/.311 line he brought in to the night.
