Fantasy Baseball Warfare is a great matter to a nation; it is the ground of death and of life; it is the way of survival and of destruction, and must be examined.–Sun Tzu

Morning Roundup: Double Dan

Dan Haren hit an RBI double to help along his win in Arizona’s 5-3 victory over Houston last night. Haren’s double, his second of the season, scored the Diamondbacks’ first run by bumping home Stephen Drew in the third inning. Back on the mound, Haren pitched deep into the game, going as far as two outs into the eighth inning before Chad Qualls was called in to strike out Lance Berkman. Haren’s start was good enough for the win, his fourth, and allowed five hits, a walk, and three runs. He struck out five.

Arizona’s corner infielders Conor Jackson and Mark Reynolds combined for a three-for-six, two run, three RBI performance, and Jackson added his third stolen base of the season. As impressive as Jackson’s spring has been (he has already hit more triples (3) than he ever has in a season, he’s batting .345, and his OPS is 1.018), it’s possible we may be beginning to see some of the upside to a player whose average draft position this year was far out of the top tier.
