In his first appearance in eleven months since undergoing elbow ligament replacement surgery, B.J. Ryan recorded a save for the Blue Jays yesterday–his first since April 11, 2007. Ryan first gave up a triple to Marlon Byrd in the bottom of the tenth inning, but a groundout and two flyouts kept the inning scoreless for Texas, and the game 5-4 for Toronto. Rod Barajas, catching for Blue Jays starter A.J. Burnett, went two-for-three with two RBI on the game.
Josh Hamilton went one for five with two RBI for the Rangers, but that one was a solo home run in the fourth that brought his season numbers to 3 HR, 13 RBI, and 6 R with a .271 average.
