Last night I was fortunate enough to attend the Brewers v. Dodgers game in Milwaukee and I figured I would provide some insight on what I saw.
Starting on the mound was Carlos Villanueva v. Brad Penny. Each pitcher lasted 6 innings, but Villanueva allowed only 2 earned runs to Penny’s 5. Neither pitcher dominated, but Penny started to slow down in the 5th inning, allowing 3 runs
Unfortunately, Ryan Braun didn’t have a multi-home run game for the third straight day, but he was still the best Milwaukee hitter. His 2 run double would end up being the game-winning hit and his average is now approaching .300 (.294).
Braun didn’t stand out too much in the field either. If I remember correctly, he only made one error on how to play a ball.
Russell Martin went 3 for 4 and got 1 RBI, however, he was often stranded on base. He gunned Corey Hart out stealing 3rd base, and soon after Bill Hall went yard, which would have scored Hart.
Most importantly, Eric Gagne came in to close the game after Salomon Torres pitched the 7th and 8th innings and Guillermo Mota closed the game on Monday night. Fan reaction to Gagne was fairly negative, but the place erupted after he got himself out of a jam.
It seems that Gagne, Torres, and Mota will split the closer role until one of them stands out regularly.
Fans in Milwaukee were often more focused on trashing the few Cubs fans rather than focusing on the game, but it’s nothing new. There was a feeling of excitement in the park, but the attendance was only around 25,000.

How did Prince look?
Is he going to turn it on soon? And what should fantasy owners be expecting of him?

He played solid at the plate (2 for 3, rbi, and a walk).
Personally, I expect him to start heating up soon. I think he has shifted his focus right now to just getting hits rather than homers, and that should get his confidence up and then the power numbers will go up.
If you don’t own him already, see if you can buy him now. I think it’s still in the realm of possibility that he can hit 45 homers this season.
Braun is getting a huge contract today, and hopefully that can get him going along with Weeks and Fielder.

I forgot to add, I think Prince’s slow April had part to do with his contract. He is the most underpaid player in baseball right now, and since Braun got this new contract, maybe Prince will get one.

Let’s hope so. I do own Fielder and I acquired him a few weeks ago in a trade in which with Loney and Marcum, who I didn’t even realise was as good as he is. For Hafner, F Lopez, Pierre, Maddux and Lee. Who I kinda wish I held onto now…
Still I think I got the best player in the deal and Marcum has almost been as good as Lee.
But at the same time, there is another owner telling me he won’t even hit 30, and then he asked for him in a deal… lol

He hit 50 homers last year, and still has more than half of a season to go. Anything can happen.
We have brought up this before, as far as people trying to talk you into something, or provide fake news or something like that to get a player in a trade.
