Fantasy Baseball Generals

Fantasy Baseball Warfare is a great matter to a nation; it is the ground of death and of life; it is the way of survival and of destruction, and must be examined.–Sun Tzu

Morning Roundup: Crawford’s Club

Carl Crawford hit a three-run home run yesterday to lead the Rays past the Angels, 8-5.

Crawford went three-for-five in the game and scored two runs, bringing his season run total to an AL-leading 30. He also stole his twelfth base of the season, and brought his batting line to .289/.318/.403. B.J. Upton crossed the plate each time he got on base in the game, going three-for-five with three runs, and stealing a base of his own, bringing his season total to seven.

Five of Tampa Bay’s runs came off Los Angeles starter Ervin Santana, who made it two outs into the sixth inning while giving up nine hits. The silver lining for Santana owners and apologists (and Generals who count him as a hot pitcher who will continue to have value) is that he struck out seven and walked one in the outing.
