In a 19-5 certified slugfest against the Brewers, Geovany Soto knocked in six for the Cubs with two three-run homers.

Soto hit his fourth and fifth home runs of the season in the game, and the six-RBI performance brought his RBI total to 20 and batting average to .333. Elsewhere around the Cubs infield, first baseman Derrek Lee went two-for-three with an RBI double (he’s batting .364); second baseman Mark DeRosa went two-for-three with two RBI (he’s hitting .297); shortstop Ryan Theriot (.323) went two-for-three with an RBI, and third baseman Aramis Ramirez (.287) went one-for-three with three RBI. Even Ronny CedeƱo got in on the infield fun, knocking in three RBI on a double in his pinch-hit appearance before taking over at second in the ninth.

The silver lining for Milwaukee is that Ryan Braun went two-for-three with three RBI, and is now hitting .273 after an anemic start to the season.

Anyway, who were those Brewers pitchers that suffered the Cubs onslaught? Starter Jeff Suppan bore the brunt of eleven runs (eight earned), relievers Brian Shouse and Seth McClung each gave up one, and Derrick Turnbow let up six. Please note, Eric Gagne did not pitch.
