Fantasy Baseball Generals

Fantasy Baseball Warfare is a great matter to a nation; it is the ground of death and of life; it is the way of survival and of destruction, and must be examined.–Sun Tzu

Morning Roundup: Cust Up

Jack Cust went four-for-four and hit a solo home run on Oakland’s 15-8 win over Los Angeles last night.

Cust isn’t having the best start to the season, hitting only .222 with 2 home runs and 8 RBI, but he is walking plenty enough, with a .423 OBP. Though he shouldn’t be expected to have the greatest average this year, he should have the power, and his fantasy owners are hoping he gets started soon on the 20-plus home run season most projections peg him for. Oakland’s RBI total was spread fairly evenly through the lineup, with eight batters knocking in runs, including two each from a two-for-four Frank Thomas, two-for-five Daric Barton, and two-for-five Bobby Crosby.

Mike Napoli and Erick Aybar, hitting eighth and ninth for the Angels, both went two-for-four with a home run each (Napoli’s seventh and Aybar’s first), and two and three RBI, respectively.
