The Red Sox and the Brewers hit eight home runs between them in an 11-7 Boston victory yesterday.
The first home run was a two-run shot by Ryan Braun in the first inning. The next two came back-to-back from Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz in the third, both solo home runs. Then J.J. Hardy added another two-run blast in the fourth, and Ortiz a two-run dinger in the fifth. Braun and Prince Fielder then got in on the back-to-back solo home run game in the sixth, and Kevin Youkilis rounded out the home run parade in the seventh with a two-run shot of his own.
The home runs capped an eight-homer week for Braun and a three-homer one for Ortiz, as Braun brought his season total to thirteen and Ortiz ten. It was the sixth for Fielder this year and second for Hardy, and the second for Pedroia and ninth for Youkilis.
Most of the home runs were hit off the starters for each team, with Carlos Villanueva giving up two homers on five hits and five earned runs (he struck out three and walked three over a four-inning start), and Josh Beckett giving up four bombs on six hits and six earned runs (he went seven innings to strike out nine and walk one).

Braun is tearing it up. I picked him #9 overall despite major reservations. And he is hitting right handed pitching right now. My fears are subsiding.
