Craig Monroe continued his hot streak yesterday with a two-RBI double in Minnesota’s 7-3 win over Boston.

The double capped a ten-game streak for Monroe in which he hit .313 with three home runs and nine RBI, and it making it seem likely that Monroe will continue to hit every day for the Twins, if not in the outfield, then as the designated hitter (previous DH Jason Kubel hit .125 with one home run and four RBI over the same stretch).

Liván Hernández was the starter for Minnesota, and though he gave up ten hits and a walk in his six innings, he struck out one and held Boston to three runs, all of them in the first inning, when David Ortiz drove Coco Crisp home with a single, and then Manny Ramírez hit a two-run blast to bring Ortiz home.
