He hit 50 homers last year, and still has more than half of a season to go. Anything can happen.

We have brought up this before, as far as people trying to talk you into something, or provide fake news or something like that to get a player in a trade.

Let's hope so. I do own Fielder and I acquired him a few weeks ago in a trade in which with Loney and Marcum, who I didn't even realise was as good as he is. For Hafner, F Lopez, Pierre, Maddux and Lee. Who I kinda wish I held onto now...

Still I think I got the best player in the deal and Marcum has almost been as good as Lee.

But at the same time, there is another owner telling me he won't even hit 30, and then he asked for him in a deal... lol

I forgot to add, I think Prince's slow April had part to do with his contract. He is the most underpaid player in baseball right now, and since Braun got this new contract, maybe Prince will get one.

He played solid at the plate (2 for 3, rbi, and a walk).

Personally, I expect him to start heating up soon. I think he has shifted his focus right now to just getting hits rather than homers, and that should get his confidence up and then the power numbers will go up.

If you don't own him already, see if you can buy him now. I think it's still in the realm of possibility that he can hit 45 homers this season.

Braun is getting a huge contract today, and hopefully that can get him going along with Weeks and Fielder.

I liked this piece. It might have benefited from some kind of chart, showing where each of the categories overlapped. Seems like "Judgment" could overlap with every other category listed. I found it a bit difficult to fully understand the rankings for each format while not completely comprehending where, say, "Judgment" stopped and "Crafting Strong Strategy" began. That said, I believe you underestimate the value of trading in non-expert leagues.

I think the problem is mostly that when you send emails it is easy to ignore them. Don't rely on your "inbox" as you say, but make a few phone calls.

As far as evaluating players, I think you can just be diplomatic about your disagreement. This is a thorny problem and one that everyone wrestles with. One tactic that I usually try is to reverse it, to say "if you were me what would you think of this deal."

A serious problem with trading, especially in our deep mixed league, is that other owners ALWAYS overvalue their own players for a variety of reasons.

What is the best way to deal with overvaluation by others without simply telling them they are just wrong and that player X is nothing close to what he thinks?

Another probelm is that quite often if I send a trade out, other owners simply reject and don't even bother to counter.
What is the best way to encourage more trading? Cause lets face it, is always exciting to log on and see a few offers on the table for you.

How did Prince look?

Is he going to turn it on soon? And what should fantasy owners be expecting of him?

What Mike said.

How many pitchers in MLB history do you think got traded in the off-season and turned around and won 20 games for their new team? Odds are against Volquez doing this, but the season is one quarter over and he has six wins, so he's off to a good start.
